My count for the year (including audiobooks) is up to 50 as of the end of September, so I’m almost at my goal already (a book a week). I’m continuing my deep dive into C.S. Lewis which is well-reflected in this quarter’s reading.
Lewis: The Horse and His Boy, The Great Divorce, The Last Battle (all audiobooks), On Writing (and Writers)
History: The Last King of America: The Misunderstood Reign of George III (Andrew Roberts); How the Irish Saved Civilization (Thomas Cahill, audiobook); A Travel Guide to the Middle Ages (Anthony Bale); The Badass Librarians of Timbuktu (Josh Hammer)
Devotional: Praying with Paul (D.A. Carson)
Other: Planet Narnia (Michael Ward, audiobook)
All of these books are worth reading if they sound interesting to you. I found the book on King George III to be particularly fascinating as it gave me a very different perspective on Britain’s relationship with the American colonies than the ones to which I have previously been exposed. Planet Narnia is a fascinating theory about the underlying framework of the Chronicles of Narnia and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
